Brits getting more concerned about debt
Brits are becoming increasingly concerned about debts and other personal finance issues, according to a study by Unbiased.co.uk.
The price comparison site's poll found that almost half (47 per cent) of people are more concerned about their finances than they were six months ago.
The areas people were most concerned about included their savings, or lack of them, retirement planning, how they'll pay for long-term care and their mortgage arrangements.
Investments, saving for their children's futures, healthcare provision, personal protection provision and taxation planning were also on the list of things keeping people awake at night.
Karen Barrett, chief executive at unbiased.co.uk, said: “Given the economic climate over the last few years, financial planning should be at the forefront of everyone’s minds. Careful planning could make a real difference to both your current financial situation and also securing your future."
Despite people becoming increasingly gloomy about their finances, recent figures from the Insolvency Service found that there was a one per cent drop in personal insolvencies in the third quarter.
